
- Meet Steven, a photographer and director, from Brooklyn, New York. Growing up as a Haitian-American in a single-parent household, he learned many life lessons from his environment, which helped shape his unique perspective and artistic style. As a young child growing up in the inner-city and being exposed to a tougher lifestyle than most, as an adult, Steven now uses these many experiences as inspiration for in his photography today. Before pursuing his passion for photography, Steven spent several years as a school leader, helping students to identify their own talents and express themselves in the pursuit of their happiness. After eight years in education, He felt that the best way to lead by example was to pursue his own dreams, and in 2017, he took a leap of faith and went after his childhood dream of becoming a full-time photographer. They say that: “with great risk often comes great reward” and betting on himself turned out to be his biggest reward yet, as he quickly gained momentum and recognition in the photography world for producing work for notable brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Instagram, Google, Versace, NBA, SpringHill, Peacock TV and being commissioned to capture celebrities such as Will Smith, Issa Rae, Mary J. Blige, Dapper Dan, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Jermaine Dupri, and many more. Steven's unique approach to the craft is simple: photography isn’t just about taking a picture, it's about capturing the emotion behind the moment. This approach has earned him continued recognition and has unlocked the door to much of his recent success. Despite his many achievements, Steven remains grounded and true to his roots, always striving to create meaningful and powerful images that bring his audience closer to the world of art and photography.
